Title:  The Effectiveness of the Integration of a Self-access Language Learning (SALL) Component into a Taught Course.

Abstract: This paper presents the findings of a pilot study examining the effectiveness of integrating a self-access language learning (SALL) component into a taught course. The integration aims to enhance learners’ individualization and language proficiency. Given the importance of learners’ perceptions for the success of individualization and because the integration of SALL is currently being pursued around the world in the tertiary and secondary education sectors, the current study investigates learners’ perceptions of the integration and their learning gains from it. Suggestions will be made on how to increase that effectiveness.
